ACADEMIA MARIA REINA

Academia María Reina is Puerto Rico's premiere bilingual Catholic college preparatory 7th-12th grade school for girls. The school was founded in 1966 by progressive nuns dedicated to the advancement of women through education. We are one of four sister schools sponsored by the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Brentwood, New York.

Through a holistic educational approach, the school empowers young women to pursue excellence to become courageous, compassionate and ethical leaders; agents of local and global transformation, as well as defenders of justice through service.

A SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE

In 1989, the institution received the Excellence in Education Award
from the Council of American Private Education.

We pride ourselves in teaching our students to be determined and hard workers. Yet, we can not teach those values without following them ourselves. The following accreditations, memberships, and awards can attest to our commitment:

ABOUT THE BEES...

We have two mascot bees. Abby and BB. Abby is part of the Academic Programs and BB is our Athletic Bee.

Abby was inspired by Maria Reina's crown. Abby's wings and body almost mirrors the crown shape from our emblem and logo. It creates a visual connection to the symbols that started AMR's Emblem story.

BB, our Athletic Bee is ready for action. She is strong, focused, and proud to represent AMR in any athletic endeavor with integrity, goodwill, and #bluebeespride.
