A RECOGNIZED GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING PROGRAM

We offer a comprehensive School Counseling Program in grades seven thru twelve. In accordance with ASCA Competencies, we integrate: Academic, Career, and Personal/Social Development.

Our students have a scheduled guidance class once a cycle and meet individually with their counselors throughout the year. The program integrates Naviance, the leading college, career, and life readiness platform.

In grades nine through twelve, our students develop and work on a four-year plan to guide them in a successful college admission process. The school counselors also schedule grade-level meetings with parents to help them learn about academic issues, summer programs, and college admissions.

Our goal is for students to graduate with the competencies necessary to make self-directed, realistic, and responsible decisions and be successful contributors to society.

STUDENT-CENTERED COLLEGE COUNSELING

College counseling is student-centered and focused on providing guidance in the selection of colleges and universities based on individual personal and academic needs and professional goals. One hundred percent of our students attend institutions of higher learning and are accepted at the best universities in Puerto Rico, USA, and Europe.

The Counselor aims to assist in the development of our students by encouraging academic, career, and social/emotional growth toward lifelong success in a diverse and changing world. Individual counseling and group guidance will help students to:

  • Acquire the attitudes, knowledge, and skills that contribute to effective learning

  • Identify and finalize a list of colleges, based on “best fit”, to which the student will apply

  • Complete original college application essays

  • Complete college applications on time

  • Apply for financial aid

  • Prepare for the transition from high school to college

The College Counselor also meets with parents, individually and in group orientations, regarding the college search, selection and application process, financial aid, and the transition to college.
